Annual Homeless Summit
The County of San Bernardino Homeless Partnership hosted the 10th Annual Homeless Summit on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Redlands University Orton Center. The Summit was attended by approximately 300 guests, including community and faith-based organizations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, private industry, state, and local government representatives. The theme for the Summit was “Housing First.” Philip Mangano, Founder and President of the American Round Table to Abolish Homelessness, served as the emcee for the event. Speakers included the Father of Housing First, Dr. Sam Tsemberis, PhD, Founder, Pathways to Housing, and Dr. Benjamin Henwood, PhD, MSW, University of Southern California. Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzales, and former Third District Supervisor James Ramos also provided words of inspiration and encouragement to the audience. The afternoon provided information about the Coordinated Entry Workflow and Rapid Re-Housing: An Effective Strategy to Ending Homelessness.
